This was the first intranet site Charion designed, built and maintained for Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. The Communications Department was the source of all Cracker Barrel information, so this site needed to quickly convey important information to over 1,000 Home Office employees. This site took priority over all other jobs that Charion did for the company. Within minutes of getting an update and confirmation the article was live. Because the updates were instant and happened all day, employees checked in frequently to see what was new. The IS Department set all home pages on every computer to this location by default.
Charion was asked to create a site that would attract and inform home office employees, be easily updated, navigated, succinct, and maintain the Cracker Barrel look. At the time that look included the distressed lines and colors seen on this site. Charion designed, built, uploaded and maintained this 144 page site for over three years. Each section had it's own landing page and archive page that allowed you to access any article ever written for the site. The landing pages held only the most current article headlines that linked to the full page article.
As time went on the site was opened up to the managers at all 500 locations, so content was developed for them as well. New menus, or dishes would showcase here first.
Because this is a secured site Charion used very small, Loreum ipsum text, or text already available to the public in the examples above.
