Nashville area designer, Charion Slocum, has been creating successful print and Web graphics for notable companies like Rogers Group, Inc., Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Dixon Ticonderoga, Prang Art Supplies, and Blevins, Inc. for the last 15 years. Charion designed, built and maintained three new websites for Blevins, Inc. She created BlevinsInc.com in conjunction with Activant, who created the wire-frame and controlled the programming and databases. She designed, built, and maintained the front end (look, layout, content, navigation, and site map) of this e-commerce site using Activant’s parameters. Charion always collaborated with all of the department heads on the design and content for the front end of both of their Internet and intranet sites.
She designed and created catalogs, calendars, circulars, sell sheets, a tradeshow exhibit, advertisements and other print media for Blevins as well. If Charion could not procure photos of the 6,000 products Blevins sells from the manufacturers, she shot them herself in a studio she set up in an empty office.

Charion collaborated in the creation of various websites for Solve Solutions www.SolveSolutions.com. She built the websites on a Mac using CSS and Adobe CS3 and HTML coding). Charion participated in the creation of various sections of the National Guard site www.1800GoGuard.com, and other sites they hosted using Adobe CS2 (Flash, DreamWeaver, Photoshop and hard-coded HTML).
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Photographer
Charion designed, produced and maintained four major and three minor websites for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, samples of Cracker Barrel Websites. She collaborated with department heads/clients on the basic look, page mapping, and content. Then built and maintained the sites for three years.
She also designed and created corporate communications and manuals, calendars, posters, advertisements and other print media for Cracker Barrel as well. Charion created an in-house photography studio, as requested, then photographed all of the products sold online on CrackerBarrel.com, as well as all of the formal shots of the executives.
Rogers Group, Inc.

Charion designed, produced and maintained much of the 500 page Ecommerce site and a large intranet site for Rogers Group, Inc. She collaborated with department heads/clients on the basic look, page mapping, and content. Then built and maintained the sites for two years.
She designed and created corporate communications and manuals, a bimonthly newsletter, brochures, catalogs, and other print materials as well. Charion went out into the field and took pictures of road crews, location shots, people shots, and best practices examples for the newsletter and web sites.
Dixon Ticonderoga / Prang Art Supplies

Charion designed packaging for the Dixon and Ticonderoga office supplies, and Prang art supplies. She also created sell-sheets, catalogs, and how-to sheets.

Charion was the head of the graphic design department at Nossi, where she taught everything from beginning computer to advanced graphic design using all of the Adobe product line. She created lesson plans for all of her classes with a focus on learning in preparation for the job market.

Charion taught high school applied and graphic art and architecture classes. She created her own lesson plans and worked at keeping them current and exciting to hold the student’s attention and help them see more clearly the relationship of art in society and as a career goal.
