Library signage seemed so dry, I decided to add a little character. The texture of the background breaks up the otherwise very beige field.
The effect suggests that maybe these old posters were stacked up somewhere. They got a little damp from humidity and a coffee spill. Someone must have tested an ink stamp on them at some point, because I see a Library of Congress stamp. The type has been embossed so hard it created a noticeable indentation.
The signs all maintain the same color and style theme and are used as quiet instructions for using the library, shelf headers and sections. The library was decorated and lit to create a peaceful, pleasant atmosphere.
