Operations needed a promotion kit for the field managers to help them prepare for the holiday buying season.
It would include:
An 18 x 30" calander containing 21 weekly lists of things to do.
A smaller flip chart version.
A holiday pricing guide.
A box filled with all of the forms and detailed information to make the season a success.
The Operations Department asked me to come up with a concept for their Holiday Planing kit. They had been using a binder with the same design for many years and were ready for something exciting and new. I thought of shoppers, who in the past walked down the snowy streets of the town and peered into the colorful Chirstmas window displays. It was in keeping with the Cracker Barrel brand of feel good nostalgia.
The Marketing Department arranged the set with a tree and displays that contained products that would be on sale during the season. They lit the tree and I took the photos in the darkened room to catch the mood created by the colorful lights. Next I designed the box and the two flip charts.
The head of the department said "When the managers received the box and calendar they immediatly called to tell me how much they liked it. It felt more like a Christmas gift than a list of projects to be completed."
